LIAM McENEANEY ON WTF WITH MARC MARON
If you've ever walked away from a conversation with me and said, "What's that guy's deal?" Well, get ready to learn what that guy's deal is.
I'm really excited for this-I've been a fan of Marc's for a long time, and a fan of this podcast since it launched. I mean, I guess I'm a little bit uncertain about people getting to know the real me--I've spent a lot of time in comedy learning how to control the world's perception of the real me--but screw it, you only go around once.
It's so funny, because WTF is one of the world's premiere interview podcasts, and for a very good reason. You can not understand how good Marc is at interviewing people, how genuinely masterful he is at it, until you're actually sitting across from him in the thick of it. It's like seeing a fistfight in a movie, and saying, "Yeah, if I was there I'd be punching and kicking and doing backflips and going crazy," and actually finding yourself in the middle of a brawl where just fists are flying and you're trying to get out before someone breaks your nose.
I'm not 100% sure exactly what I said; when my mouth open I am usually on go. But whatever. I think it went fine. Listen to it, judge me, and enjoy!
Gilbert is one of those comedians that I literally grew up watching, and the chance to do a show with him is phenomenal. Those of you who don't delete these emails unread will remember that he has been the center of several legendary Howard Stern show moments, and he's appeared in movies from Walt Disney's Aladdin to Beverly Hills Cop 2.
